The Native Plants Database was developed in conjunction with OpenAI’s ChatGPT 4o model. Sources include VASCAN (Database of Vascular Plants of Canada); USDA PLANTS Database; and North American Native Plant Society (NANPS). Canada’s Species at Risk Registry was also consulted for conservation status and assessment details.
The database will constantly be updated and errors may exist. Not all entries have full information at this time. However, scientific and common name data exists for all entries.
You can browse the database using the table below or click here to use the Advanced Search function developed to assist people in finding appropriate plants for their gardens.
The Container Friendly Estimate column(s) are experimental. Learn more about them by clicking here.
